How to recognise it

If your property is registered as tourist apartments, the INE sends you the Ocupación en Alojamientos Turísticos. Apartamentos survey. It’s different from the hotels one:
  • The questionnaire asks for the data of one fortnight of the month.
  • The data is split by apartment type (studio, 2 to 4 places, 4 to 6 places, and others): capacity, occupancy and prices.
  • The category is expressed in keys (0 to 4).
  • It asks for the details of the person answering: name, position, phone and email.

Ask support for the apartments file

Roomdoo can already generate the XML file for the apartments survey: ask support for it. We’re finishing the work so you can generate it yourself from the app, and it will be available soon. In the meantime, don’t use the app’s INE report for this survey: it generates the file for the hotels survey, which doesn’t work for the apartments one. If you upload it to an apartments questionnaire, IRIA rejects it with a schema error like this one:

How to answer it

You have two options:
  • Answer with the XML file: ask support for it, telling us the property and the month, and keep the INE’s communication at hand. Once you have it, upload it to IRIA as explained below.
  • Fill in the on-screen form in IRIA, with the data for the fortnight the questionnaire asks for.
The XML file contains every day of the month, from the 1st to the last, even if the questionnaire only asks for a fortnight.

How the file is uploaded in IRIA

The process in IRIA is the same as for the hotels survey: upload icon (without clicking Cumplimentar encuesta), Email, Cargar XML respuestas, Enviar cuestionario to validate it and, if there are no errors, Acceder al cuestionario and Enviar. It’s explained step by step in Export data for the INE survey. The INE publishes its own manual for apartments (in Spanish): ¿Cómo subir correctamente el fichero XML? (apartamentos).

When to contact support

  • You need the XML file for the apartments survey.
  • You uploaded the hotels file to an apartments questionnaire and don’t know how to continue.
  • You’re not sure whether your property is registered as a hotel or as tourist apartments.
