A direct reservation is one you create yourself in Roomdoo — for example, when a guest walks in or books over the phone.

To create a direct reservation, click the New reservation button in the top-right corner of the calendar, then follow these steps:

Select the Normal option.

Choose the sales channel the reservation came from.

Choose the rate for that reservation.

Pick the check-in and check-out dates.

Choose the room type and how many rooms to add (each room becomes a reservation inside the folio).

Roomdoo lets you choose a room type that’s unavailable and then assign it to a room of a different type:
Example: A room is sold as a Single at the single rate, but when creating the reservation you assign it to a Double with an extra bed because no Singles are free.

Settings per room

For each added room, a panel appears at the bottom that you can expand to configure:
  • By default, Roomdoo picks a room of the chosen type (if any are available). You can change it manually here.
  • Choose the board service or meal plan.
  • If available, set up extras: cot, pet-friendly, late check-out, and so on.
  • Set the occupancy for the reservation.
  • If a reservation has multiple rooms, you can change one room’s dates independently.

Reservation summary

When you click Next, the reservation summary appears. Set the guest associated with the reservation:
>> If you don’t have all the guest’s details, type a name and surname and Roomdoo saves it when you click outside the menu.>> If you have the full details, add the guest as a new contact.>> If the guest has stayed before, look them up by ID or tax number and add them to the reservation.
At this point, you can tick the option to send an automatic confirmation email to the guest (you can also send it later if you prefer). Finally, save the reservation or hold it as a quote. If saved, the reservation appears in blue on the calendar. If held as a quote, it appears in the calendar and holds availability but stays pending confirmation (burgundy on the calendar).
