What a quote is

In Roomdoo, a reservation in quote is a reservation that holds availability but isn’t confirmed yet. On the calendar it shows in a specific colour to distinguish it from confirmed ones. It’s used to:
  • Hold an option for a customer who hasn’t decided yet
  • Block rooms for a group under negotiation
  • Generate an economic proposal the guest can accept or decline

The known bug when saving as a quote

Sometimes, when clicking Save as quote on a new reservation, the system confirms it directly instead of leaving it as a quote. It’s a known intermittent behaviour. Once confirmed, the reservation can’t be reverted to a quote from Roomdoo. The status change is handled from our side.

What to do

Contact support with:
  • Booking reference of the affected reservation
  • Property
  • Confirmation that you intended to save it as a quote (not confirmed)
We change the status to quote from the back-office and let you know when it’s ready. The reservation keeps holding the availability in the meantime.

Common cases

If the “quote → proforma → invoice” flow is structural for your property (for example, agencies needing validation before confirming), contact support. We can review whether to change the default behaviour of the button.
If it’s happened on multiple reservations in a short time, send us the booking references in bulk. We handle them together.

When to contact support

Whenever a reservation has saved as confirmed when it should have been a quote. It can’t be reverted from the Roomdoo app.
Don’t create duplicate reservations as a shortcut (one confirmed and a “dummy” one as a quote). Every reservation holds real availability, and duplicating them distorts calendar occupancy and reports.
