In Roomdoo you can’t switch a block directly to a group reservation

A block and a reservation are different things on the calendar. If you’ve got a room blocked for maintenance and need to assign it to a group, you can’t “convert” the block into a reservation: cancel the block first, then create the reservation.

Steps to book a group on rooms that had a block

1

Cancel the block from the planning

On the planning, click on the block. Open the three dots menu and pick Cancel.
2

Create the new group reservation

Once the block is cancelled, the dates are free. Create the group reservation as usual.
If the block and the reservation end up coexisting (a weird state), don’t manipulate the calendar by hand — contact support to clean it up.

Common cases

This is an inconsistent calendar state. Don’t try to “rearrange” it yourself — contact support with the date and room.
Could be a user permission issue or the block is in a strange state. Contact support.

When to contact support

  • The block shows a state that doesn’t fit (neither a clear “Out of service” nor a clear reservation).
  • You can’t cancel the block from the planning even with the right permissions.
  • You need to revert a change that left the room in an inconsistent state.
Don’t force the calendar by creating “ghost” reservations to cover an orphan block. Calendar traceability depends on consistent statuses — manipulating it leaves reporting gaps.
