# Managing reservations

> Everything you need to manage reservations in Roomdoo: statuses, changes, check-in and check-out, blocks and group bookings, step by step.

There are a few things to know before you start managing reservations:

* The reservation number follows this pattern:

<Note>
  property-code/creation-year/folio-number/reservation-number

  *For example:* "304/25/000973/1"
</Note>

* A reservation always sits inside a folio (booking file).
* A folio is a group of reservations. Those reservations can come from the same sales channel or from different channels.
* Every reservation — whether a single one or a multi-room booking under the same guest — belongs to a folio.
* A reservation can't last more than 30 days. If it goes beyond, Roomdoo splits it into two reservations in separate folios.
* Within a single folio, there can't be more than 30 days between the earliest check-in and the latest check-out.

<Tip>
  Read our guide to [creating a direct reservation in Roomdoo](/en/reservations/create-reservation).
