# Two-factor authentication: protect your account with a code from your phone

> You can now turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) in Roomdoo: on top of your password, a 6-digit code from an app on your phone. It takes two minutes from your settings.

You can now protect your Roomdoo account with **two-factor authentication (2FA)**. On top of your password, we'll ask for a **6-digit code** generated by an app on your phone when you log in. If someone gets hold of your password, for example through a phishing email, they won't be able to sign in without that code.

## Turn it on in two minutes

1. Install an authenticator app: **Google Authenticator**, **Microsoft Authenticator** or **Bitwarden**.
2. In Roomdoo, click your name and open **Settings** → **Security and Access**. Turn on **2-factor authentication** and confirm your password.
3. Scan the QR code with the app and type the code it shows you.

## Remember this device

When you log in you can tick **Remember this device** and we won't ask for the code in that browser for about 90 days. On a shared computer, like the one at the front desk, only the last user who ticked the box is remembered.
